Why this blog exists

A short note on what this site is for, and the rules it holds itself to.

There is no shortage of Liverpool content. What there is a shortage of is Liverpool content that shows its working.

So the rule here is simple: if I make a claim about this team, there is a number underneath it, and that number has a name attached to where it came from. Not because numbers settle arguments — they rarely do — but because they make the argument honest. You can check me.

What you’ll find

Prematch previews, postmatch analysis, transfer rumours with the reporting behind each one, a weekly column, and occasional deep dives on individual players.

What changed in 2026

FBref lost its Opta licence in January, which took the public percentile scouting reports with it. That was the tool a lot of us leaned on. Rather than go without, the percentile rankings on this site are computed here — every Premier League player’s per-90 output, ranked against others in their position, with the pool size shown so you know what the number is measured against.

It’s more work. It’s also more transparent, which suits the point of the place.
