This is an independent Liverpool FC blog. It exists because I love watching this team and wanted somewhere to think about them properly — not to sell anything.

How the analysis works

The writing is mine. The numbers are not guesses: fixtures, results and league tables come from football-data.org, and shot-level expected goals data comes from Understat. Percentile rankings are computed here, by taking every Premier League player's per-90 output and ranking players against others in their position.

Every chart carries its source. Every percentile is shown with the size of the pool it was drawn from and the minimum-minutes filter applied, because a percentile without its denominator doesn't mean much.

A note on the data

FBref lost access to Opta's advanced statistics in January 2026. Where older analysis on this site references FBref numbers, those are historical figures from the 2025 season or earlier and are labelled as such.
